Sustainability

We're always looking for ways to be more sustainable

Once you've enjoyed our delicious teas, bring your empty glass jars back to Honeysuckle Wholefoods in Oswestry.

We'll then collect them for recycling.

Growing Organically

We believe organic farming is better for people and planet.  We grow without pesticides or artificial fertilisers and have a traceability system in place to record the flow of organic ingredients through our supply chain.

Packaging

Herbal infusions are a technical challenge to package in a sustainable way.  We've found that the characteristics that make packaging recyclable, compostable or biodegradable conflict with our requirements for materials that retain the aromas of our infusions and act as a barrier to prevent potential contamination from external sources for the shelf life of our products.

At the moment, we believe the best type of packaging for our products is the humble glass jar.  The recycling infrastructure for glass is well established and the lids can often be recycled with the jars themselves and later separated at waste facilities by magnets.

However, we realise that we've still got more work to do.  We're always on the look out for new types of packaging and materials that protect our precious infusions while reducing our impact on the environment.

Materials we use

Jars - glass, metal lids

Bags - polyproylene bags (inner), paper bag (outer)
